Aqualung is pleased to announce a NOK 5 million grant from The Norwegian Research Council for the continued development and commercialization of the Aqualung Carbon Capture technology.

Oslo Norway, 12 November, 2021: Aqualung is pleased to announce a NOK 5 million grant from The Norwegian Research Council for the continued development and commercialization of the Aqualung Carbon Capture technology.  The funds will enable Aqualung to further optimize the already proven technology in close collaboration with NTNU.

Henrik Utvik, CTO of Aqualung carbon capture, commented “We are very pleased and humbled for this support, which is another important  recognition of our technology and future potential.  Aqualung seeks to take an active role in the industrial energy transition with our high-performing, low cost, light footprint all-natural process for capturing CO2.  This support is instrumental for further research and development to solidify this unique membrane technology’s contribution in the circular economy.”

NTNU has spent more than 20 years developing their membrane technology that Aqualung Carbon Capture AS will now commercialize by deploying pilot units at industrial partners sites.  As previously announced Aqualung is already undertaking a commercial pilot project in southern Arkansas with Standard Lithium and Mission Creek Resources LLC.
